Hackwood Art festival 2011 Workshop Schedule
General Information
There will be a charge of £7.50 per adult and £5.00 per child for each workshop. To book a space please telephone the Festival Office on 01256 471422 or email enquiries@hackwoodartfestival.co.uk. Payment should be made by cheque payable to "Hackwood Art Festival" once your booking has been confirmed by telephone or email. Please send payment within 14 days of confirmation of your booking.
2011 Workshops
Saturday 25th June
10.00 - 12.00 Papermaking with Anita Bell
Learn how to make paper from recycled papers, learn how to form sheets of paper with the addition of other materials and how to laminate it.
Suitable for all ages - maximum group size 8
10.00 - 14.00 The Willow Wall of Wonder with Karen Hawkins
The Day will start with Karen using willow to create the vine Like wall.
In the morning you can learn how to create sun sparklers using acetate and collage, these can bring sunshine to any corner. They will hang from the Willow Wall once dry.

12.30 - 14.30 Paper making with Anita Bell
Learn how to colour paper pulp and to do paper pulp painting.
Suitable for all ages, maximum group size 8
14.00 - 17.30 Plants for the Wall with Karen Hawkins
Use recycled materials such as bottles, christmas cards and jar lids plus some shiny gems to create leaves and flowers to decorate the wall.

15.00 - 17.00 Paper Making with Anita Bell
You will learn to make a paper bowl, using casting and embedding techniques.
Adult workshop, maximum group size 8
Sunday 26th June
10.00 - 11.30 Sculpture with Hylton Stockwell
Animal Portraits, bring a photo of your pet or an animal you like and Hylton will help you to re-create it, this workshop focuses on stance and attitude rather than detailed expression.
Suitable for all ages, maximum group size 12
10.00 - 12.00 Willow Wall of Wonder with Karen Hawkins
More plants for the wall. Use recycled materials such as bottles, christmas cards and jar lids plus some shiny gems to create leaves and flowers to decorate the wall.

12.30 - 13.30 Sculpture with Hylton Stockwell
Mythical Beasts, participants will invent their own fantasy creastures in wax using a game favoured by the surrealists 'exquisite corpse' where the body parts of different animals are reassembled to form new and unlikely forms.
Adult workshop, maximum group size 12
12.00 - 16.00 Willow Wall of Wonder with Karen Hawkins
Flying Fish, made from easy to use metal materials, thee fish of fantasy will weave their way onto our willow frame.
Suitable for all ages. Join in At Any Time!
We will be attaching work to the willow wall s the festival progresses. Come and see how the structure grows. All your work can be taken home at the end of the Festival.
14.00 - 15.30 Sculpture with Hylton Stockwell
Take the opportunity to experiment with all the materials provided and create what ever you like!
Suitable for all ages, maximum group size 12
There is a minimum age of 14 for adult workshops.
Please note:
• Workshops entail people getting their hands and clothes messy so please wear appropriate clothing.
• We will not accept responsibility for damage to clothing.
• Young children should be supervised by parents or guardians.
• Unless otherwise stated materials will be supplied.
• Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
