SATURDAY 9th JUNE
1. 10 - 12pm SCREWED UP, NAILED DOWN Model making
? A children’s workshop led by Jon Williams making plaster and wire figurative sculpture. All materials will be supplied.
Maximum 12 children (minimum age 10)
2. 2 - 3.30 pm TIME CAPSULE - Collage
? A children’s workshop, by Laurence Rushby, mixed media and collage in a shoebox - please bring your own shoebox and little personal items to include.
Maximum 12 children (minimum age 5, must be accompanied by an adult)
3. 4 - 5.30 pm MEMORY LANE - Collage
Laurence Rushby will lead an adult’s workshop developing a mixed media collage through the use of paint, collage, stencilling, rubbing, waxing, photography - please bring your own little personal items to include in this work.
Maximum 12 adults
4. 11 - 12 pm HOW TO TAKE A BETTER PHOTOGRAPH
? An absolute beginner’s guide on how to take a better photograph with Stuart Brown. Please bring your own camera and examples of your own work.
Maximum 12 people (10 years and over)
5. 12.30 - 2 pm PORTRAITURE WITH CHARCOAL
Merrie Curtis Fuller will lead this workshop on how to develop your charcoal techniques using the human head as the subject. A model will be provided.

6. 2.30 - 4pm PORTRAITURE WITH PAINT
In this workshop Merrie Curtis Fuller will lead you in exploring the joys of portraiture using acrylic paint. A model will be provided.

SUNDAY 10th JUNE
7. 10am - 12pm FLAMBOYANT ACRYLIC PAINTING
? A workshop for children aged 8 and over with Soraya French investigating and having fun with acrylic paint.
Maximum 12 children
8. 12 - 1:30pm CREATIVE USE OF CLAY
? Clay modelling with John Phillipson for all ages. Please bring an overall or old clothes as clay can be messy. Finished work can be fired and collected 2-3 weeks later.
Maximum 15 people
9. 2 - 4pm MAKING MOSAICS
? A family workshop where Janine Nelson will show how to make mosaic mirror frames using glass and ceramic – as a precaution please bring protective goggles or glasses if you have them at home and wear an overall.
Maximum 10 people
10. 10am - 12pm PAINTING WITH WATERCOLOUR
An adult class on the basic watercolour principles and how to apply them. Jack Jones will answer your questions and solve your problems when working with watercolours. – Please bring your own watercolour, brushes and sketch pads.

11. 11am - 1pm DRAWING IN THE LANDSCAPE
A chance for adults to be tutored in landscape drawing in the beautiful grounds of the Hackwood Barns by Steven Palmer. Materials provided.

12. 2 - 3:30pm VERSATILITY OF ACRYLICS
An adult’s workshop investigating the diverse qualities of acrylic paint. – Please feel free to bring your favourite brushes with you.

General Information
There will be a charge of £6 per adult and £3 per child for each workshop.
To book a space please telephone the Festival Office on 01256 474222 or you can book by clicking on the link and downloading a reservation form from this page.
Payment should be made by cheque payable to “Hackwood Art Festival” once your booking has been confirmed by telephone or email. Please send payment within 14 days of confirmation of your booking.
Please note that workshops entail people getting their hands and clothes mess so please wear appropriate clothing. We will not accept responsibility for damage to clothing.
Young children should be supervised by parents or guardians.
Unless otherwise stated materials will be supplied.
Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
? Workshops with this symbol are suitable for children.
PRINTMAKING
There will also be opportunities available throughout the weekend to watch printmakers at work and experiment with a variety of printmaking techniques.
Sculpture and painting demonstrations will be ongoing during the festival.
